1. Iowa has won its last 11 season-openers.
2. Junior guard Ahron Ulis, who was suspended for the Hawkeyes’ exhibition game against Truman State, will play in this game. “He’s been playing really well,” Iowa Coach Fran McCaffery said. “I’m excited for him.”
3. Bethune-Cookman is coached by two-time NBA All-Star Reggie Theus. The Wildcats were 9-21 last season, Theus’ first at the Orlando school.
4. Former Hawkeyes Luka Garza and Joe Wieskamp scored 30 points apiece Saturday night in their NBA G-League teams’ games. Garza plays for the Iowa Wolves, Wieskamp for the Wisconsin Herd.
