Jessica Wiskus is the local leader in opposing running carbon dioxide pipelines through private property even when the owner objects. These governmental powers are only legitimate for investments like roads that we all use. They should not be available to corporations to use for a boondoggle plan to spend billions for very little contribution to keeping greenhouse gasses out of the atmosphere.
Jessica Wiskus is a longtime educator who can be counted on to reverse the defunding of our schools. If she gets a vote in the Iowa Senate, she would not vote to underfund students at the University of Iowa or Kirkwood or Coe.
Jessica opposes legislators in Des Moines taking away powers of our elected local officials. Linn County supervisors should be able to set a minimum wage in the county and they did until the governor and legislature took away that right. Des Moines should not overrule decisions by our locally elected school boards, county supervisors and city council members.
We need Jessica’s voice and her vote in the Iowa Senate, District 42.
