Phoebe D. Smith, 91, of Fisher, Ill., formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2022. Celebration of Life will be held at noon with repast to follow, Sunday, Nov. 20, at The Hotel at Kirkwood Center, 7725 Kirkwood Blvd., SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404. Private burial at Oakhill Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Phoebe is survived by her children, Ruby V. Love, Vernon P. Smith, II, Deborah V. Smith-Shields, Phoebe D. Smith-Porter and Katherine G. Smith; brothers, Emil E. Downs and Benjamin Downs; sister, Gloria Gibson; and Grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of 15 children.
She was preceded in death by parents, Jacob A. Downs and Ruby M. Downs; and brothers, Jacob Downs, II, Anna Marie Downs, Otto Downs and Mabel Sublett.
