Bob was born July 11, 1935, in Ossian, Iowa, the son of William and Clara (Loesch) Leuenberger. He graduated from De Sales Catholic High School in Ossian. Bob served his country honorably in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1958. On Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, 1960, Bob was united in marriage to the love of his life, Velma Lechtenberg, in Calmar, Iowa. He also gardened, did yard work, fed the squirrels and supported Velma with all of her various collections and hobbies. Most of all, he was a committed and devoted caregiver to Velma.
