Perkins reopens Coralville location with new prototype

Oct. 25, 2022 5:45 am
CORALVILLE — Fifty years after it first opened in Coralville and several months after it closed for remodeling, Perkins Restaurant & Bakery reopened Monday.
With its remodel, the late-night diner at 819 First Ave. will display a modern prototype model for the brand, with fresh design elements and new ways to order food and baked goods.
Now, diners can order from the restaurant’s storefront bakery via all major food delivery apps, or for curbside pickup online at perkinstogo.com.
The prototype model embraces a slimmed-down, forward-looking footprint using 4,600 square feet. Compared to its previous 5,800 square-foot model, it lowers development costs and creates higher returns, according to a Perkins spokesperson.
“We are delighted to present our refreshed building design and added services for our guests to enjoy,” said Jim Frank, chief operating officer for Perkins Restaurant & Bakery. “We greatly appreciate our customers’ patience, while our team focused on renovating the restaurant with a brighter new look for the Coralville community.”
The Coralville location is open every day from 6 a.m. to midnight.
