Wayne Ray Buelow, 67, of Palo, died from a heart attack on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022. Services: 2 p.m. Sunday at Teahen Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids by Pastor Brian Reeves. Private family burial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, Shellsburg.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Loretta; daughter, Jenna (Shane) Rieck; grandson, Ivan; parents, Ray and Mae Buelow; sister, Cheryl Buelow; brother, David (Sallie) Buelow; mother-in-law, Belle Milward; father-in-law, Charles (Jeannette) Brinning; and many beloved extended family members including brother and sister in-laws, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Tyler.
Wayne was born on Feb. 14, 1955, in Vinton, the son of Ray and Mae Beatty Buelow. He graduated from Kennedy High School in 1973. Wayne married Loretta Brinning on Feb. 23, 1985, in Cedar Rapids. His true love was farming and he also worked at Crawford Quarry for 40 years. Wayne was a loving husband, father, grandpa, son, brother, uncle and friend. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Ivan. Wayne had a strong relationship with Jesus and enjoyed reading his Bible. His greatest joy was working on the farm with his dad and brother. Wayne was smart, funny, hardworking and very dependable and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
