Scott was born on March 22, 1967 in Harvey, Ill., son of Glen and Karen Haworth Muters. He graduated in 1985 from Washington High School, Cedar Rapids. Scott received a Bachelor’s of Music Performance from the University of Iowa and a Bachelor’s of Music Education from Mt. Mercy University.
