Le Mars
Patrick Schulz, 46, of Sioux City, Iowa, formerly of Le Mars, Iowa, quietly left this world on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa. Pastor Art Hansen, uncle of Patrick, will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Saturday. Expressions of sympathy may be directed through mauerjohnsonfh.com.
Patrick was born on March 22, 1976, in South Korea. At the age of 4, he was adopted by Donna Hemmelman and Albert Schulz in the United States. Patrick’s childhood was not easy, but with the help of a supportive mother and a tireless work ethic, he became a successful adult. Pat worked hard at an early age and continued this into his adulthood after he graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1994. With this freedom, Patrick studied, worked hard and excelled in a variety of fields.
He made friends easily, collecting many “best friends” along the way. Pat never met a stranger. He was an awesome son, a wonderful uncle and the best brother around. He enjoyed playing tennis, basketball, Sudoko, being outdoors and hanging out with his nephew and niece. Pat had a very generous nature. He would give up his last dollar, shirt or sandwich if asked. Those fortunate to know him enjoyed a funny guy, an avid listener and generally a fun person to be around.
Those that live with his memories are his sister, Shallynn; his nephew, Jaydon; and his niece, Khloe, all of Le Mars, Iowa; his baby, Friskie; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and Albert of Seney, Iowa.
Waiting for him are his mother, Donna; stepdad, Mike; and grandparents, Herman and Helen Schulz and Evelyn Williams.
