JoAnn Mesch, 80, of Hiawatha, Iowa, died unexpectedly at her home, Oct. 14. Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 21, at 9:30 a.m. with a ceremony at 11 a.m. at the First United Church in Hopkinton.
Survivors include her children, Shelly, Darren (Joan), Sandy (Kelly) and Doug (Christine); 11 grandchildren; two great-grandsons; one sister, Diane; one brother, Danny; one sister-in-law, Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Judy; her parents; two brothers, Glenn and Eugene; one sister-in-law, Shirley; and two nephews, Glenn Jr. and Andy.
JoAnn was born Nov. 18, 1941, in Monticello, daughter of Daniel and Dorothy Flannagan. She graduated from Buck Creek High School in 1959. JoAnn worked for Midwest Metals, retiring in 2019. JoAnn enjoyed being outdoors, her beautiful flower gardens, crocheting, and cooking/baking.
