Cynthia Sheldon, passed away peacefully on Oct. 11, 2022. Cynthia was born in Cedar Rapids, on Feb. 1, 1946. She grew up in Fairfax, Iowa, and graduated from Prairie High School. Cynthia loved spending time with her family, She enjoyed gardening, knitting and day trips. She was also an avid animal lover and had numerous pets, including several rescues.
Cynthia is survived by her husband, Larry; her children, Mike (Jean) Sheldon and Patty (John) Hammel; six grandchildren, CJ Sheldon and Ryan (Samantha) Sheldon, Michael (Thomas) Hammel, Zach (Samantha) Hammel, Emily (Colton Braby) Hammel and Lacey Hammel; and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings, Tom (Teresa) Tow and Cathy (Ken) Hall; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Blanche Tow; sisters, Beverly, JoAnn, Betty Lou and Peggy; and her grandson, Dan Hammel.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
