Twenty-four Iowa high school football teams remained undefeated entering Week 8 of the 2022 season.
We knew at least one would fall Friday night — No. 4 Underwood beat No. 5 Carroll Kuemper 28-20 in a Class 1A battle of unbeatens.
Two more did, as well. In Class 3A, No. 5 Nevada knocked off second-ranked Humboldt, 16-8. Meanwhile, Columbus Community’s unbeaten run ended by the narrowest of margins, 32-31 in overtime to Class A No. 10 Alburnett.
Here’s how all the teams ranked in this week’s Gazette poll fared Friday night.
