Sandra Lois Bredman, 81, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022, at UIHC.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. Following the service the family will greet friends until 7 p.m. A family committal service will be held at Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to CommUnity Crisis Services.
Sandra was born April 21, 1941, in Storm Lake, the daughter of Samuel and Olive (Kevan) Hahne. She was raised in Holstein, Iowa, where she was the valedictorian in the 1959 graduating high school class. On Sept. 7, 1959, Sandra married Neil Victor Bredman.
In September of 1961, they moved to Iowa City, from rural Larrabee, Iowa. Sandra had a long career in department of orthopedics at UHIC, where she was the administrative assistant to Dr. R.R. Cooper. She retired in 2001.
She and her husband spent many years traveling and camping to different areas in the United States. They enjoyed playing bridge and joining friends for Hawkeye football, basketball and other events.
Sandra is survived by her children, Brett (Susan) Bredman of Cedar Falls, Bonnie (Chuck) Villhauer of Iowa City and Bryan (Stephanie) Bredman of Shueyville; six grandchildren, Cody (Brett) Bredman, Amber (Robert) Ozzello, Nathan, Tiffany, Scott (Allie) and Benjamin; five great-grandchildren, Taylor Jo, Dane, Taytum, Payton and Sebastian; brother-in-law, Robert Tucker; and extended family.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2006; and her sister, Karen Lee.
