Olive Branch, Miss.
Ben F. McCalmant, 83, of Olive Branch, Miss., formerly of Wyoming, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Aug. 28, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
Ben was born in Wyoming to William Edward McCalmant and Ruth Parsons McCalmant. After graduation from Wyoming High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served in Texas, Italy, California, Vietnam, South Dakota, Germany and New Jersey, retiring as a Master Sergeant. After the conclusion of his 24-year enlistment, he worked for over two decades
in Civil Service. He enjoyed nature, tinkering on cars, riding his motorcycle, animals of all kinds, fitness, his grandkids, stirring the pot, and a good cup of McDonald’s coffee.
Ben is survived by his daughters, Susanne and Nadia; grandchildren, Evan, Luke and Autumn; great-grandson, Leon; former wife Adriana, and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, George, Robert, Vernon, Charles, Ivan, William and John; and his sisters, Donna, Rose, Thelma and Verna.
