Iowa State has replaced Incarnate Word with Drake for its rescheduled non-conference game Dec. 1.
Kickoff is 11 a.m. at Jack Trice Stadium.
The game is a replacement for the original season-opener against South Dakota State that was canceled due to weather.
Incarnate Word qualified for the FCS playoffs, which begin Saturday. The Cardinals had said they would still play Iowa State if they didn't advance to the second round. A win over Drake would not count toward an FBS team's bowl eligibility because it is a non-scholarship program, but the 6-4 Cyclones are already eligible.
'We're most grateful to Drake Athletics Director Brian Hardin, Coach Rick Fox and the Bulldog leadership team for working with us through a very fluid situation,” Iowa State Athletics Director Jamie Pollard said. 'Coach (Matt) Campbell wants to play a 12th game and I believe our fans would welcome another chance to see this bowl-bound team play. I know the Bulldogs will enjoy the chance to play at Jack Trice Stadium and compete against a Power 5 opponent.”
Drake is 7-3 this season and tied for second in the Pioneer Football League with a 6-2 conference record.
The Cyclones and Bulldogs last met in 1985, when Drake was still a Division I-A program. Drake won 20-17.
