Cedar Rapids man accused of sexual abuse, holding woman against her will

CEDAR RAPIDS — A Cedar Rapids man was arrested Friday on charges he held a female victim against her will and sexually assaulted her.
Cedar Rapids police responded to 4610 Tama St. SE at 9:18 a.m. Friday. The female was there and reported that Nelson Junior Brocks, 41, held her inside a nearby apartment against her will and sexually assaulted her. She also said a knife was displayed during the incident, according to a news release from the Cedar Rapids Police Department.
The female was taken to a hospital and officers went into the apartment, where they found and detained Brocks. Brocks was also taken to the hospital for an unrelated condition.
He is facing charges of second-degree sexual abuse, assault with a dangerous weapon and obstruction of emergency communications. He’s currently being held in the Linn County Jail.
