Here are our predictions, plus viewing information and complete pregame coverage.
Iowa State vs. Baylor predictions
Line — Iowa State -2.5
Mike Hlas — Here’s hoping Jamie Pollard’s CyTown project works out better than Gary Barta’s plan to convert the U. of Iowa main library into a Chick-fil-A. Iowa State 21, Baylor 20
John Steppe — Baylor’s colors are green and gold and its mascot is the Bears. This is my excuse to remind everyone that the 13-time world champion Green Bay Packers (once again) beat the Bears last week. Baylor 24, Iowa State 23
Jeff Johnson — My cohort Jeff Linder is one of the nicest guys you ever will meet. But if you really want to see him get riled up, have him talk about his disdain for Baylor football and its sordid history under Art Briles. So this one’s for you, Lindy. Iowa State 242, Baylor 0
Rob Gray — Fun fact: The Cyclones haven’t lost a Big 12 game at Jack Trice Stadium in the past 1,064 days. Oklahoma State is the last league foe to win in Ames, recording a 34-27 triumph on Oct. 26, 2019. The Cyclones have won a program-record 11 straight conference home games since that setback. But history doesn’t factor into Saturday’s matchup, of course. The team that plays cleaner football usually wins in fairly even matchups like this one. I expect the defending Big 12 champion Bears to edge the Cyclones in that area — and barely end a remarkable streak in the final seconds. Baylor 21, Iowa State 20
Beth Malicki — Happy 22nd anniversary today to the man who picks these scores. I still love you despite going 0-3 two weeks ago. Iowa State 28, Baylor 27
Todd Brommelkamp — If CYTown doesn’t have a bar called “Jamie’s Place” with a Busch Light neon in the window it’ll be a giant miss. Iowa State 24, Baylor 20
