Why did Republicans shorten early voting?

Counties begin mailing out requested, mail-in ballots on October 19. They must be returned to the County by 8PM, November 8th. 20 days! I know of letters taking 14 days to go 10 miles, some longer.
Republicans cut the days from 40 days to 29 days and last year to 20 days. Why did they cut the days? They knew how slow mail is. That is why they did it. That and not allowing friends to deliver the ballots to the one drop box allowed in each county. They knew limiting the number of mail-in votes means fewer Democratic votes.
If Republicans were truly honest about having fair and easier voting, days would go back to 40, friends could deliver the ballots, drop boxes would be across the counties, etc. Or we would have online voting.
Ask Republicans why. Do not let them shine you on with “election security and fraud.” Make them give examples of insecurity and fraud! I asked my Republicans representatives two and three years ago that question at town halls. No answers.
Our power we prize and our rule we will maintain! They wish.
