Carolyn Lee Fox, 75 of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2022, at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s Hospital following a short illness. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Carolyn is survived by two sons, Shawn (Tammy) of Bella Vista, Ark., and Troy of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Ashlyn and Kaden Fox of Bella Vista, Ark., and Ella Ryan of Cedar Rapids; sister, Cynthia (Vince) Brady of Estes Park, Colo.; brother, Douglas McKee of West Des Moines; sister-in-law, Myrna Steggall of Sallisaw, Okla.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Bob; parents, mother and father-in-law; and many aunts and uncles.
Carolyn was born on Dec. 11, 1946, in Fairfield, the daughter of Clifford and Lelah Hining McKee and graduated from Aplington High School in 1965. She married Robert Fox on Oct. 3, 1970, in Aplington. Carolyn worked in the accounting department for SCI for 24 years.
Carolyn was a loving wife, proud mother and grandmother. She was a huge Iowa Hawkeyes fan and followed every sport. Carolyn and Bob were members of the Ellis Boat Club and boathouse owners at Ellis Harbor. She enjoyed being a mother and grandmother more than anything and loved spoiling her grandchildren.
Carolyn enjoyed dining out, traveling, boating, reading and sitting next to a good fire with her family and friends. Her TV was always on and tuned into a western or a police show. Carolyn always looked forward to going out to lunch with her friends, but insisted dessert be first.
Carolyn was able to go home with Bob so they can celebrate their 52nd wedding anniversary together. She had a great life and will be spending eternity in peace, love and harmony.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
