Betty “Lucy” Hinz, 91, of Anamosa, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022.
A memorial Mass celebrating Lucy’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Anamosa, Iowa. Inurnment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Anamosa.
Survivors include her daughters, Victoria Hinz of Marion, Valerie (Larry Jackson) Hinz of Ames and Tonia (Lon) Otten-Harding of Marion; grandchildren, Micah (Kim) Jackson, and their children, Konnor, Parker and Ivy, Mattea Otten, and her children, Emmett and Abigail, and Vanessa Harding; also surviving are two brothers, Gene and Dean Brown.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Junior Hinz; and grandson, Thomas Gibson.
Betty “Lucy” Brown was born Sept. 16, 1930, in Mount Vernon, Iowa, the daughter of Clifford and Sarah “Irene” (Nost) Brown. She graduated from the Lisbon High School in 1947. On Feb. 24, 1949, she married Junior Hinz in Anamosa, Iowa. Lucy was a cosmetologist for many years. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, and enjoyed golfing, bowling and cards.
Memorial donations may be given in her name to the charity of the donor’s choice.
