Highlights: Iowa State football gets in the win column against Akron

The Iowa State Cyclones picked up their first win of the 2018 football season Saturday at Jack Trice Stadium.
Connor Assalley kicked four field goals and Iowa State beat Akron, 26-13, to improve to 1-2.
Assalley converted from 27 yards in the second quarter to give the Cyclones the lead, then added the final nine points of the game in the fourth to seal the win.
Zeb Noland completed 26 of 34 passes for 233 yards and a touchdown in his second start of the season. David Montgomery rushed for 107 yards and a TD on 23 attempts.
Iowa State held the Zips to 244 total yards, including 91 on the ground (2.9 per attempt).
The Cyclones return to Big 12 play next Saturday at No. 17 TCU at 6 p.m..
