Kevin Johnston, 64, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Aug. 30, 2022, after a long battle with cancer.
Kevin was born on June 28, 1958, to Kenneth and JoAnn in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids, in 1976. After graduation, he landed his job as a mechanic for General Mills, kicking off a career spanning over 40 years. During his time with General Mills, he became an award winning first responder.
In 1977 he met Diane, and they wed on Aug. 9, 1980, going on to have two children: Jen and Jim. Kevin pursued many hobbies, including raising and racing sled dogs, doing Tae Kwon Do, fishing, being a cub scout leader and working in his shop.
Kevin was predeceased by his sister, Jacqueline Jo; mother, JoAnn; and wife, Diane.
He is survived by his daughter, Jen Trembath (Craig); granddaughter, Dotty Jo Trembath; son, Jim Johnston (Megan Bartos); his father, Kenneth Johnston (Beverly); and sister, Kathy Hefflefinger (David).
There will be a Celebration of Life held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, at Third Base
