Iowa football expands player council ahead of 2022 season
Leadership group now includes sophomores as well as juniors, seniors

IOWA CITY — Iowa football has expanded its player council ahead of the 2022 season.
Head coach Kirk Ferentz announced a group of 23 players — larger than the 16-player 2021 group — in a Monday news release.
It also includes five sophomores after the 2021 group was exclusively juniors and seniors.
The group will “assist in formulating policies and being involved in team decision-making throughout the year,” according to the news release.
