Student debt forgiveness ignores those who paid

I am pleased to see that our president is wanting to help the millions saddled with student debt. Most, if not all, students acquire debt that can take up to two decades to clear.
But, what about the millions that have paid off their student debt? I feel our government should allow a $10,000 tax deduction for all who can show they had, and paid off their debt. Freebies for the few never sits well with the majority. Just saying.
