Lana Dettbarn, 72, of Eads, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022, after a battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Stanwood, Iowa, with visitation immediately prior, starting at 1 p.m. Private Committal Service to follow.
Survivors include her husband, Russell Dettbarn; daughter, Candi McMorran (Rich); stepdaughter, Alicia Krehbiel (Mark); three sisters, Karen Hass (Rich), Sandra Jennings and Roma Panther (David); three granddaughters, Callie, Cara and Crista; three stepgrandsons, Zachary, Dakota and Jesse; and two step-great-granddaughters.
Lana was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on July 14, 1950, the daughter of Erwin and Violet Lerhman. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Stanwood, Iowa. She had a MBA from St. Ambrose University and spent her career as the executive director of Administrative Services and Treasurer of the Board for Eastern Iowa Community College District. She was a fierce advocate of education and for women. She loved the beach and spent her winters there, driving her Jeep on them often. She will be forever loved and missed by her family.
