Pub 217 now serving late night food

CEDAR RAPIDS — Pub 217 at 217 Third St. SE is now serving food until midnight or 1 a.m.

Thanks to kitchen hour expansions, you can now order items like half-pound wieners until midnight Sunday through Wednesday or 1 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.

The hour expansion is rare at a time when most restaurants are reducing their hours or continuing pandemic hour reductions due to ongoing labor shortages in the industry.

“We are really excited to be able to offer our menu for late night customers,” owner Jason Nanke said. “After a certain time at night there are not a lot of choices for some great food downtown.”

Pub 217 joins SKO, another new bar with tacos and more under the Epic Catering Group umbrella, in offering late night food service downtown. SKO serves a full food menu until midnight and tacos until 1:30 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
