Heidi Kay Techau, 53, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022. There will be no services. Arrangements are with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Larry; children, Heather (Matt) Wylie, Jacob (Alyssa) Techau and Hannah Techau; grandson, Jameson; and mother-in-law, Rose Techau.
Heidi was born on May 24, 1969, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Howard and Sarah (Bernadini) Janisch. After serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, Heidi loved being a mom and grandma and spending time with “The Crew.” When she wasn’t babysitting her grandson and practicing her Spanish and German, Heidi enjoyed feeding people, claiming food is love.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Rose Wylie.
