Hinson, Miller-Meeks are no Jim Leach

I read with interest the article on former Congressman Jim Leach. It reminded me of the reason I crossed party lines and voted for him when he was in Congress and I lived in Eastern Iowa. Congressmen Leach always put Iowa and the country above partisan politics. He took his oath to protect the Constitution seriously. The two women who now serve in Congress for Eastern Iowa are more interested in demonizing Nancy Pelosi and telling lies to scare Iowans. They also voted against the infrastructure bill which Iowa farmers are benefiting. Money is being spent on locks and dams from pork barrel projects and bridges and roads are set to be improved with the infrastructure bill. These projects aid the farm-to-market roads and will improve bridges. Iowa leads the nation with the largest actual number of structurally deficient bridges with 4,575.
I moved to California to work part-time after retiring in Iowa. California is the home of both the majority and minority leader of the house. I am not a fan of either. I am more concerned about Rep. Kevin McCarthy. The same Rep. McCarthy who condemned President Trump on Jan. 7, 2021, about the attack on the Capitol is now trying to white wash the insurrection. Why is it always the future that never arrives for Republicans? Trump’s health care plan, the pillow guy’s breaking evidence and Hillary's emails. Reps. Ashley Hinson and Mariannette Miller-Meeks are no patriots.
