Evelyn Louise (Johnston) Kasal, 93, of Keystone, Iowa died on Aug. 5, 2022, at the Keystone Care Center. Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service, Belle Plaine, Iowa. Burial will take place at National Cemetery, Vining, Iowa. Evelyn was born April 3, 1929, in Poweshiek County, Iowa, the daughter of Ted and Gladys (Hakeman) Johnston. She graduated from Chelsea High School in 1947. On June 22, 1948, Evelyn was married to Robert Kasal at the Methodist Church in Chelsea, Iowa. He passed away on Aug. 5, 1966. She was employed by Vigortone Ag Products in Cedar Rapids until her retirement in 1994. Evelyn was the best mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother that her family could have asked for. Evelyn enjoyed knitting and crafts, making many items for her family and charities.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Ray (Diane) Kasal of Chelsea; daughter, Eileen (Joseph) Kozman of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Julie (Jeff) Brezina of Tama, Tim (Stacy) Kasal of La Grande and Megan (Mitch) Moser of Grimes; great-grandchildren, Josh Brezina, Jessie Jones, McKenzie Kasal, Alex Kasal, Nathan Kasal, Bella Moser and Jay Moser; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kay Cline and Gayle Kvach of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parent; husband, Robert; and brother, Kenneth Johnston.
