Mildred Peters, 99, of Delhi, Iowa, passed away on Monday, Aug. 1, 2022, in Manchester. Visitation for Mildred will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, 2022, at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester. Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022, at Delhi United Methodist Church with the Rev. Keith Pitts officiating. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Delhi. Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mildred was born on Oct. 15, 1922, in Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of Karl and Opal (Wheeler) Clark. She graduated from Delhi High School. Mildred married Raymond Peters on Sept. 22, 1940, in Delhi; five children were born into this union. She was employed by Rockwell Collins Aviation and worked there for many years until her retirement in 1978. Mildred was a member of the Delhi United Methodist Church and where she was involved in United Methodist Club, Women’s Club of Delhi, American Legion Auxiliary Club of Delhi and helped with the Delhi Senior Meals. She enjoyed quilting and sewing, baking (especially cinnamon rolls), going on trips and working on puzzle books. Mildred loved spending time with her friends and family; she will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Mildred is survived by her children, Robert (Sharon) Peters of Earlville, Iowa, Carol Peters (significant other Mike Maas) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Donna (Dennis) Pilgrim of Manchester and Julia Peters, Urbandale, Iowa; grandchildren, Russell (Susie) and Aaron “Mike” (Jennifer) Peters, Eric (Danielle) and Jason (Jennifer) Liedtke and Jessica Koss (Peter Yazbec), Jamie (Yuki) Pilgrim and Daniel (Brandi) Pilgrim and Jody (Kurt) Hatfield; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-stepgranddaughter; and her brother, Ronald Clark of Westminster Calif.
She was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Karl and Opal Clark; husband, Raymond Peters; son, Richard Peters; grandson, Nathaniel Pilgrim; brother, Kenneth Clark; and sister-in-law, Jan Clark.
