Every human is valuable, including unborn

In Monday's Gazette, a full page was devoted to trying to convince us that a recent poll shows that 60 percent of Iowans think abortions should be legal in most or all cases. You can make any poll reflect your opinion by selecting the right people for your poll. Therefore, most polls are meaningless. The article includes opinions of four Iowans, who coincidentally all disagree with the Supreme Court's decision that our constitution doesn't recognize a right to an abortion.
Specifics given from abortion rights supporters cite different reasons to keep abortion legal. One woman had an abortion for financial reasons. Another man said abortion is a right from conception until a heartbeat can be detected. After that, abortion is no different from killing a child. Another woman opposes abortion, except for health reasons or "whatever the doctor sees as necessary." Just like choosing your poll sample, you can probably find a doctor who would find an abortion necessary. The last comment was from a man who said the government "needs to stay clear the hell out of it and leave it up to the lady."
Unfortunately, the unborn child cannot speak for or protect itself from any of these reasons. He or she relies on those of us who see every form of human being as valuable, with the unalienable right to life.
Don't let media propaganda tell you what is right or wrong. Speak up for, and vote for, life.
