Arlene J. Boardman, 93, of Cedar Rapids, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at the Cedar Valley Bible Church. Interment will follow at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arlene June Tunks was born on Nov. 29, 1928, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Ovid and Thelma (McQueen) Tunks. She graduated from Viroqua High School in Wisconsin. On Dec. 17, 1948, Arlene was united in marriage to Everette Boardman. She and Everette spent 54 wonderful years together before his passing in 2002. Arlene was a longtime member of Cedar Valley Bible Church.
Arlene had a devout faith and a strong love for the Lord. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, fishing, crafting, attending family gatherings, and was known for being the best cookie baker there was. Her passion was her family, especially her grandkids.
Arlene is survived by her children, Colleen (Dean) Pata, Kathy (Mike) Usher and Steven (Cathy) Boardman; grandchildren, Aaron (Sara) Pata, Nathan (Missi) Pata, Becky (Mike) Brown, Chris (Letha) Usher, Brian (Nicole) Usher, Kelly (Dominic) McNeese and Dan (Jillian) Boardman; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Arlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Everette Boardman; parents; brother, Lyle Tunks; and sister, Loma Mellem.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Everette Boardman School Scholarship Fund at the Cedar Valley Christian School.
