Former Iowa Hawkeyes Tyler Cook and Peter Jok and ex-Iowa State Cyclones Marial Shayok and Lindell Wigginton have been invited to the NBA G League Elite Camp in Chicago on May 12-14.
Jok is one of 40 players from G League teams invited. The guard recently finished his second season with the Northern Arizona Suns. Cook is a junior who made himself an early-entry candidate for the 2019 NBA draft, as did sophomore guard Wigginton.
Shayok was on the all-tournament team at last month's Portsmouth Invitational, for college seniors.
The G League camp will give prospects an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of NBA and NBA G League scouts, coaches and front-office executives. The event will also continue to give top NBA G League prospects from the previous season a chance to be evaluated.
A select number of players from the draft-eligible group will be invited to participate in the 2019 NBA Draft Combine. The Combine will be May 14-19. Tyler Horton-Tucker, an Iowa State freshman last season, has been invited to the Combine.
Wigginton had a workout for the NBA's Utah Jazz Saturday. Shayok will work out for the Atlanta Hawks Tuesday.
Iowa freshman guard Joe Wieskamp, also an NBA early-entry, has reportedly worked out for the Boston Celtics and Oklahoma City Thunder.
Wieskamp is expected to return to Iowa for his sophomore season.
