Mark William Henderson, 58, of Swisher, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Private family Celebration of Life services were held. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids were in charge of arrangements.
Mark was born June 25, 1964, in Cedar Rapids, the son of John and Pat (Dostal) Henderson. He graduated from Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School. He worked for his dad at A-1 Auto Body for many years. Later, he worked for the City of Cedar Rapids Parks Department and advanced to lead heavy equipment operator for the City of Cedar Rapids. Mark was united in marriage to Michele Gonsales on July 5, 2019. He was avid outdoorsman, hunting, fishing, mushrooming, collecting and restoring classic cars, going to car shows and, most of all, spending time with his family.
Mark is survived by his wife, Michele; his siblings, Jackie (Bernie) Walther, both of Cedar Rapids and Renee Henderson of Cedar Rapids; his dogs, Bonze and Patches; his son, David (Liz) Bekeris of Cedar Rapids; his grandson, Luke Bekeris; his niece, Sydney; and his nephews, Ian and Grayson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
