New Hires
Aaron Egbert has joined the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Clinic as a physician assistant at Mercy Medical Center.
Dr. David Krupp is now with UnityPoint Clinic’s Family Medicine-Westdale in Cedar Rapids. Dr. Samir Patel has joined UnityPoint Clinic’s Bowman Woods Family Medicine in Cedar Rapids.
Emily Fitzpatrick and Jennifer Hutchinson, both advanced registered nurse practitioners, have joined UnityPoint Clinic Internal Medicine in Hiawatha. Amber “Nicky” Green, also an ARNP, now is with UnityPoint Clinic Family Medicine in Marion. ARNP Amy Vincent joined UnityPoint Health at St. Luke’s Heart Care Clinic.
Cedar Rapids Bank and Trust has hired Teresa Jensen as a business banking officer.

Tim Higginbotham was promoted to vice president and branch manager at Hills Bank’s Marion office.

Farm Bureau Property and Casualty Insurance Co, and Farm Bureau Life Insurance Co. have been named to Ward Group’s 2022 Ward’s 50 group of top performing companies.
Scholarships
UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's Hospital team nursing members Katie Langstraat, Emily Watson, Katelyn Burns-Thompson and Craig Liscum each received a scholarship of $3,500 from 2022 Iowa Hospital Education and Research Foundation, supported by the Iowa Hospital Association, to further their health care education.
Nominations
Nominations are open for the 2022 Iowa Women of Achievement Awards presented by Women Lead Change. The award recognizes the contributions of historical Iowa women who made outstanding and lasting contributions to the citizens of Iowa, the nation or the world. Nominations are due by Sept. 1 at https://www.wlcglobal.org/awards/women-achievement.
The Iowa Restaurant Association is seeking nominations for its annual Celebrating Excellence Awards, which recognizes the restaurateur, chef, employee and philanthropist of the year along with awards for diversity, sustainability and pursuit of the American dream. Online nomination form can be found at restaurantiowa.com and nominations will be accepted until 5 p.m. Aug. 26.
Insights and sessions
The University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business is hosting a series of free monthly webinars starting in August to help people make better financial decisions based on their life situation. The sessions are free and be viewed at tippie.uiowa.edu/about/alumni/alumni-events/life-lessons-webinars. The monthly series will start Aug. 11.
The Gazette Business Breakfast panel’s second quarter discussion, “What’s Next: The Future of Downtown Cedar Rapids,” is ready for viewing at thegazette.com/business-breakfast.
