Marci Jo Meyocks, 63, passed away unexpectedly on June 9, 2022. Marci was born on Nov. 6, 1958, in Rockford, Ill., the only girl and the last child of Richard Dean Meyocks and Donna Lee (Floyd) Meyocks. Marci graduated from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and received a BA in Music at Iowa State University.
Marci had an incredible voice and a love of music. She was the lead in the first opera performed at Iowa State University, where she attended, in over a century. She managed the sound stage at Paisley Park and was the last employee at Prince’s studio when it finally ceased operations. She went on to work for other recording studios in Minneapolis area as well before she moved to Marion to be closer to her aging mother.
Marci was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Donna Meyocks; grandparents; and brothers, Craig Lee Meyocks and Brad Lynn Meyocks.
She is survived by her only living sibling, Mark Ray Meyocks and wife Renee of Yakima, Wash., Craig Lee Meyocks’ wife Brenda of Port Orange, Fla., Brad Lynn Meyocks’ wife Laura of Payson, Ariz., and many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins.
A memorial will be held at a future date. Interment will be at Kisling Cemetery, Urbana, Iowa.
