Connie Del Rounds, 63, of Cedar Rapids passed away unexpectedly on July 14, 2022, at home in Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 23, at Tommy’s Restaurant in Cedar Rapids from 3 to 5 p.m. A private burial will be at a later date with family assisted by Murdoch Funeral Homes & Cremation services.
Connie was born on April 28, 1959, in Waterloo, Iowa. She attended Cedar Falls, where she then graduated. She met her late husband working at a restaurant in the Cedar Falls Mall, they married in Wyoming and traveled to other states working in various restaurants. They returned to Manchester, Iowa; Bill passed of a heart attack shortly after. Connie then made Cedar Rapids her home and worked at Tommy’s Restaurant. She enjoyed all her coworkers and regulars who would come in, they were like her second family. She enjoyed playing bingo, playing cards, and visiting with lots of laughter at family events.
Connie is survived by two brothers, Bruce (Sharon) Rounds of Wheatland and Mike (Penny) Rounds of Peterson; two sisters, Joyce Johannsen of Wellsburg and Vicki Hook of Manchester; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Wayne and Patsy Rounds; husband, William (Bill) Jones; two brothers-in-law, Gary Johannsen and Justin Hook; and a very special friend, Raymond Avis.
