Kevin Paul Carney, 66, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, July 16, 2022. Celebration of life gathering will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2022, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Private family inurnment will be in Eternal Gardens at Czech National Cemetery.
Kevin was born Nov. 1, 1955, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Clement and Audrey (Schwab) Carney. He graduated from Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School, Class of 1973. Kevin was united in marriage to Deborah Blazek on July 6, 1976, in Cedar Rapids. He worked for many years for the Cedar Rapids Community School District. Kevin enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, hunting, mechanics, building small models and, most of all, spending time with his family.
Kevin is survived by his daughters, Misty Carney, Ryan Klein and Meagan Carney; five grandchildren, Deleigha, Trinity, Charles, Donovan Jr. and Declan; as well as furbabies, Lola and Kendall.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Deb, who died Dec. 3, 2020; his son-in-law, Brett Klein, who died Sept. 30, 2021; and his brothers, Colin and Tom Carney.
