Patricia Ann Rowray, 77, passed away July 8, 2022. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 15, with funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, 4200 First Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402. Burial to follow after the service at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Patty was born in Hartley, Iowa, on April 14, 1945, to Leonard and Grace Ewoldt (Puhrmann). Patty graduated from the Iowa School for the Deaf in 1965. She was married to Rickie in Spencer, Iowa, on Nov. 23, 1968.
She is survived by her children, Randall (Jenifer) Rowray and Robina (Miles) McDaniel; her grandchildren, Miranda (Tyler) Dunnam, Benjamin, Nathan, Brooklyn, Madison and Mason; her great-grandson, Lane; brother, Jim Ewoldt, sister, Connie Huffman; brother-in-law, Dan Rowray; mother-in-law, Wanda Rowray; and stepsiblings, Kenard, Wanette, Shawn and Angie.
She was a member at the Word of God Lutheran Church for the Deaf. Her favorite pastimes were sewing, baking and connecting with friends. Patty and Rickie lived in Cedar Rapids for 44 years with a “Can-Do Attitude.” We will continue living by her loving and humble spirit. Patty lived at Bishop Drumm Retirement Center for nine years following the death of her husband Rickie in 2013.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Grace Ewoldt; in-laws, Richard and Augusta Rowray; sisters-in-law, Marsha Hilton, Joyce Ewoldt and Bridie Ewoldt; brother, Dennis Ewoldt; sister, Gale Kruger; and brothers-in-law, Lyle Kruger and Judd Huffman.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bishop Drumm Retirement Center.
