Cedar Rapids, Iowa Economic Development Authority to discuss derecho block grant funding for housing

The city of Cedar Rapids and the Iowa Economic Development Authority will hold an informational session Friday for housing developers to discuss the $40,052,800 in federal Community Development Block Grant-Derecho Recovery funding.
The in-person session, designed to explained the program’s requirements and funding availability for the construction of single- and multi-family housing, is set for 9:30 a.m., Friday, July 15, at the downtown Cedar Rapids Public Library, Beams conference rooms A and B, 450 Fifth Ave. SE.
Linn County will receive approximately 80 percent of a total of the $57,566,000 in U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development money allocated to the state, the city said in a news release.
