Phyllis Pierce passed away July 5, 2022, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha.
Per her request, there will be no services.
Phyllis was born to James and Velma (Hoyle) Parrett on Feb. 21, 1930, in Fairfield Iowa. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1948. She worked in logistics at Lawry Foods in California for many years.
In 2001 Phyllis moved to Marion to be near her family.
She is survived by her sister, Beverly Peterson; nephew, James (Sue) Peterson; niece, Janet (Dan) Engle; and a very good friend, Linda Bendixen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Pierce; brother-in-law, Don Peterson; and her parents.
She enjoyed bowling and playing cards and she loved cats.
The family would like to thank the staff at Village Ridge in Marion for their love and care of Phyllis during her residency and also all who cared for her at Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House.
Memorial donations may be made to Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House or Cedar Valley Humane Society.
