Louise McCarl
Cedar Rapids
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Louise McCarl on July 4, 2022. She passed peacefully in her sleep and was in her 96th year as she was born on Sept. 17, 1925.
Her husband, Glenn; and daughters, Dianne and Vicky, and grandson, Brett preceded her.
Louise is survived by her remaining grandchildren, Steffanie, Julie, Heather, Robert, Brian and Matthew.
Louise lived through the Great Depression and World War II; all while staying a patriot. She was a feisty lady who supported veterans. She loved living in Iowa, as well as enjoyed traveling inside and outside the states. She worked most of her life outside the home, but she kept her home spotless which she was very proud of. Louise loved to garden. Her strawberry jam was coveted by many as it was worthy of many awards even though she gave it away and never entered any competition with it. Louise lived a full life and will be missed.
Services: 10 a.m. Monday, July 11, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, where a visitation will begin at 9 a.m. until service time. Chaplain Deb Black will officiate. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
