Gina Marie Rizzio, 30, of Cedar Rapids, was called home to the Lord on Sunday July 3, 2022, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Services: 6 p.m. Thursday at Teahen Funeral Home by Pastor Debbie Eberly from Spirit of Faith Church. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m.
Gina is survived by her children, Natalie Joe and Malerie Kay Holland; parents, Tammy and Rick Rizzio; siblings, Josh VanBeek (Katie Kleeberger) and niece Sophia, Joseph (Chelsea) Rizzio, Katrina (Luis) Ramirez and Valerie (Devin) Van Dolah; grandparents, Eugene and Gloria VanBeek; and many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and dear friends.
Gina was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joseph and Patricia Rizzio; and uncle, Doug VanBeek.
Gina was born on Aug. 14, 1991, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Rick and Tammy Rizzio. She graduated from Jefferson High School and later went to cosmetology school. Gina was a CMA at the Veteran’s Home in Marshalltown, and also worked at her church daycare. She was a member of the Spirit of Faith Church.
Gina was passionate about many things; she was the queen of thrift store shopping, an avid fisherman, a masterful chef and foodie. Her faith was very important and she was very active in her church. Above all, Gina loved spending time with her family, especially her daughters, and will be deeply missed.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to Gina’s family.
