Victoria Jean Lerch VonStein, 69, of Cedar Rapids, died at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s Hospital on Sunday, June 26, 2022, following a short illness. A Celebration of Life will be held from 12 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Teahen Funeral Home.
Vicki is survived by her daughter, Heidi (Brian) Lerch; two sons, Jamie (Sasha) Lerch and Brett (Melissa) Lerch; father, Dave Schmitt, all of Cedar Rapids; brother, Michael D. Schmitt of Clear Lake; sister, Stacy (Patt) McDowell of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Haven (Marcuso), Sadie (Quamai), Hannen (Marc), Halan, Aidan, Jace, and Reece; two soon to be born great-grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Lori Schmitt; sister, Lori Gifford; brother, Matt Schmitt; nephew, Jesse Dan Aarhus; and a niece.
Victoria was born on Aug. 31, 1952, in Fort Dodge, the daughter of David and Lori Miersen Schmitt. She married Donald Lerch on Sept. 18, 1971, in Cedar Rapids. They were later divorced, but remained friends. Vicki worked in home health care and as a secretary for Dave Schmitt Construction.
Vicki enjoyed nature and camping, and had a deep love for her family and animals. She always strived to be beautiful. Vicki was an attractive woman both inside and out, and she will be dearly missed.
