Lois A. Fettkether, 88, of Williamsburg, passed away Monday, June 20, 2022, at Highland Ridge Care Center, Williamsburg. Per Lois’s wishes, her body was donated to the University of Iowa for research. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2022, at the Marengo American Legion, Marengo, with Phil Buschmann officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time, at the Marengo American Legion. Memorials may be contributed to the Marengo Senior Dining. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Lois is survived by her children, Rebecca (Phillip) Fulks of Odessa, Mo., Lawrence (Chris) Fettkether of Williamsburg, Jeanette (Charles) Dorn of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, Joseph (Charlna) Fettkether of St. Louis, Mo., Ramona Bauerly of The Colony, Texas, and Marty (Russell) Salfi of Sister Bay, Wis.; nine grandchildren, Matthew Sherwood of Eldridge, Iowa, Kollin (Lizzie) Fettkether of Marengo, Chloe Wasendorf of Ames, Charles Dorn Jr. of Coeur d‘ Alene, Idaho, Erik Dorn of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, Joseph Bauerly of Lincoln, Neb., Elizabeth Bauerly of The Colony, Texas, Ross (Hannah) O’Donnell of Blairstown and Jennifer (Shawn) Clark of Cedar Rapids; and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving Lois are her siblings, Laurine Jarrell of Dallas, Texas, Jerrold (Eunice) Burns of Elcho, Wis., and Joseph (Mary Jane) Burns of Cary, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Laurence Burns and Dora Schroeder Burns; her husband, Kenneth “Doc” in 2021; her siblings, Donald Burns and Doris M. Crowe; a great-granddaughter, Kennedi Sherwood; and a son-in-law, William Bauerly.
