Iowa and Iowa State did some climbing in the last week.
The Hawkeyes (16-3) moved from 24th to 21st in the USA TODAY men's basketball coaches poll, released Monday. They have won five straight games, and have been ranked 10 consecutive weeks.
Iowa's next game is at home Thursday night against No. 5 Michigan State, which plays No. 16 Maryland at home Monday night.
After falling out of the Top 25 last week, the Cyclones (14-4) returned Monday following a win at then-No. 9 Texas Tech and a home victory over Oklahoma State. They are ranked 25th.
Iowa State is at No. 10 Kansas on Monday in a meeting of Big 12 Conference co-leaders.
In other news, Iowa's Joe Wieskamp was named the Big Ten's men's basketball Freshman of the Week Monday. He scored 34 points in two wins, including 24 against Illinois Sunday. He was the first Hawkeye to get one of the conference's weekly honors this season.
Iowa State senior forward Marial Shayok was named the Big 12's Newcomer of the Week following a pair of 20-point performances last week.
