Randy Thomas Gillmore, 59, passed away June 9, 2022, after suffering a stroke. He fought for nine days before succumbing while surrounded by his family.
Randy, also known as "Rock" by his family, grew up on their family dairy farm in Springville, Iowa, before eventually relocating to Phoenix. He loved many things. but what he lived for was riding enduro. In his youth, he raced competitively all over the country. After several years, and several major accidents later, he never gave up and never slowed down. By far his favorite place to ride was in Taylor Park, Colo., where he felt the trails pushed him to higher levels and greeted him with the best scenery. As fast as he was, Randy took the time to appreciate his surroundings, love the people he was there with, and was always the helping hand to any and all along the way. Although Randy was an incredibly humble and kind soul, he was extremely proud of his family. He never took the time to settle down, but instead chose to live and share his life with everyone. He was embraced by his cousin as a father figure, and even more, as a grandfather to his cousin's children. It gave him tremendous joy the first time he was able to see the boys ripping through the grass on their electric bikes.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Genevieve; and his eldest brother, Eldon.
He is succeeded by his brothers, Gerry and Joe and their families. His soul lives on in all those that were blessed to know and love him, and he will be greatly missed.
Randy's Celebration of Life will be a private event. Please contact Tanya Burke for information.
