Charles E. Gentry, 91, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Saturday, June 18, 2022. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2022, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Charles was born March 9, 1931, in Carmi, Ill., the son of Clarence and Ann (Quinton) Gentry. He served honorably in the United States Army from 1952-54. Charles was united in marriage to Bonnie Lou Spencer on July 18, 1958. He worked for Wilson Packing House for 35 years until his retirement. Charles was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Cedar Rapids. He was a foster parent to several children.
Survivors include his children, David (Linda) Stuber of Charlotte, N.C., and Scott Gentry of Cedar Rapids; and niece, Donna Kay Duncan of Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ann Gentry; wife, Bonnie Gentry; and sister, Margaret Adams.
