Susan K. Hubbell, 69, of Cedar Rapids, passed away at UnityPoint St. Luke’s Hospital on Saturday, June 18, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 24, at the St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Fayette, with the Certified Celebrant Randy Walton officiating. A reception to follow at the Big Rock Country Club in Fayette.
Susan was born on July 7, 1952, in West Union, Iowa. She was the daughter of the late Howard and Dorothy (Hayes) Hubbell. She was a retailer with Von Maur for many years. She married Tom Petsche Sr., and from this union, they had two children. They later divorced and remained lifetime friends. She enjoyed traveling, thrift store shopping, and especially spending time with family and friends.
Those left to cherish Susan’s memory are her children, Thomas (Nilsa) Petsche of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Jennifer Petsche of Nashville, Tenn.; her siblings, Robert Hubbell of Eau Claire, Wis., Howard (Linda) Hubbell of Guttenberg, Iowa, Mark (Jill) Hubbell of West Union, Iowa, and Julie Hubbell of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a dear friend, Jim Polley.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Luke’s Hospice.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at St. Luke’s Hospice, St. Luke’s Transitional Care, P.A., Anna Conroy at the UIHC, and Nurse Practitioner, Erin Balk for all the love and support they showed Susan while she was in their care.
