Thomas “Tom” Perry Miller, 65, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at UnityPoint Hospice in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, following a long illness. Per his wishes, he has been cremated and a private service will be held at a later date.
Tom was born on Oct. 30, 1956 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Leland and Doris (Olver) Miller. He graduated from Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School in 1975.
Tom worked as a cook in various area restaurants including the Flamingo and Nasos in Marion. He was a member of the modeling club Alexander Lippish “Fartin Fleas” where he specialized in Army tanks. He was an avid WWII buff and loved to watch war movies and TV shows.
Tom is survived by his sister, Donna (Lee) Borntrager; and nephews, Philip (Daria) Borntrager of Graham, Wash., Matthew (Carrie) Borntrager of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Nathan Borntrager of Cleveland, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Thank you to UnityPoint Hospice for their help caring for Tom in his final days. His cremation has been handled by US Cremation Society.
