Cole feigns dislike of dark money her party loves

I remember distinctly Althea Cole’s Oct. 28 column in which she laments the direct result of actions that can essentially be laid at the feet of her own political party. In her June 5 column she repeats the same lament. I’d believe she were really concerned about politics infecting local elections—as seems to be the premise of both columns—if at some point she’d call to overturn the Citizens United ruling. Instead, she sets up Amara Andrews and other Democrats as bogeymen for using the exact system her party gleefully adopted after 2010. So which is it? Actual concern, or just an eagerness to score political points?
